Home Pointers Fiona

Fiona

Fiona is 4 years old and was found on the island of Chios with 3 pups. Her pups have been rehomed.

Fiona has had Femoral Head Ostectomy on both hips and other than a little awkward gait she has made a full recovery.  Fiona spent her recovery period from the operations in a very secluded place, therefore she has become very anxious and afraid of the outside world.

Fiona is now in foster in the UK where she is learning to adjust to everyday life. Currently she finds it hard to leave the security of the house, a venture outside presents lots of challenges for her, so part of her rehabilitation is to encourage her every hour or so to go into the garden or for a short walk. She is very anxious of any loud noises or sudden movements, on walks she will try and seek out a place to hide or just lay down and has to be coaxed to walk on. She would benefit from a home with other dogs, a home with someone who has time to carry on with her training and to make all the necessary adjustments to alleviate her anxieties, so she can enjoy to the full the love and freedom she now has.

She is great with children, she is a typical Pointer, happy, cuddly, joyful, a gentle soul who is friendly with other dogs and all humans.  Plus she is absolutely beautiful
