Sweet pointer Flo is currently in a foster family in Turkey where she was found.
Flo appeared on the streets of Uzumlu, Turkey at the end of August 2024. Investigations established that Flo (previously Kizim) had been a much loved pet, vaccinated (mixed and rabies) every year by her owner but when her owner’s circumstances changed, earlier in 2024, she was handed in to the shelter. The shelter then neutered her and put her out in Uzumlu. Flo wasn’t coping well on the street – desperate for human company, she was running into the dual carriageway to follow people – in an effort to keep her safe, a couple took her into foster in October 2024.
She is around 4 years old and circa 16kg, she is a petite pointer.
She has a microchip and been under the care of the vet since she arrived. She has been treated for a severe (fungal?) ear infection. This treatment is ongoing – she requires sedation for a thorough clean/investigation. No other health issues.
Flo is very gentle with humans, other dogs and cats. A calm, docile girl, who just craves human love and attention. Absolutely loves a car ride and travels beautifully.
Her hunting instinct is moderate – Flo would actively stalk birds but no aggression/success.
Flo is cat and child tested, house trained and walks well on a lead.
She has a passport and will be ready to travel early 2025 – once her paperwork is completed.
Flo is such a gentle, loving dog, who has clearly lived in a home environment before. She loves nothing more than a snuggle on the sofa. She is happy being left – no anxiety/destruction and is clean in the house. A very calm dog around humans – no aggression at all.
