Home Pointers Harley

Harley

Originally rescued in Turkey and now in foster in the UK, Harley is approximately 2 years old,  a small/medium Pointer with head-turning good looks and immaculate manners.

Harley is a happy-go-lucky boy who loves life.  He enjoys meeting other dogs and people, is house trained, great with children, ignores cats, likes playing,  swimming and lazing about in the sun and sleeps all night without a murmur. You could not imagine a more loving, fun-filled dog who is always ready to give you a huge cuddle and melt your heart.

Not surprisingly Harley attracted lots of interest from potential adopters. He just had to decide which of the many sofas on offer was the best, and then quite suddenly he had a series of seizures. Instead of being top-dog, Harley was no longer wanted.

Harley has now completed a variety of tests which have thankfully eliminated any life-threatening illnesses. He has been prescribed Epiphen tablets for epilepsy and since starting this treatment, Harley has had no further fits and has returned to being a lively, happy young dog. He scoffs down his tablets enthusiastically, especially if they’re wrapped in a piece of sausage!

He will be monitored in the coming months and provided he remains stable, his medication will be reduced and eventually withdrawn. The tablets cost in the region of £35 monthly at the current prescribed quantity. Harley is living a full life and there is no reason to think he will not continue to do so into old age.

His foster recently wrote “what a pity that nobody can see past the fact that he needs medication. Harley has become the ideal dog, such a happy little chap, so eager to please and loves everyone and his dog!”
