On Saturday 1st July, pointers and adopters from past and present gathered together in a field just outside Norwich to celebrate the annual Pointers In Need Fun Day. It was a fabulous turnout with 65 humans and 67 pointers attending, and the weather was ideal for everyone to make the most of it and enjoy themselves.
The main events of the day were the Grand Raffle and a dog show which saw five classes compete for Best In Show. A rosette from Wizard Rosettes was awarded to the Best In Show dog and prize money donated by a fundraiser was given to all 1st class winners, Reserve Best In Show and Best In Show. The Grand Raffle prizes included a portrait of your dog by Carol White, Pit Pat trackers, and six bottles of wine donated by Jonathan Ledger. And the whole event wouldn’t have happened without sponsorship from Skinners, Fish For Dogs, and Platinum.
A total of £1,200 was raised which is an amazing amount that will be used to help rescue many more pointers in need. Thank you so much to everyone who contributed.
The pointers all had the best time and the field was just the right size for them to all run freely and safely. The celebrations continued into the evening thanks to Clare and Chris Harvey, who also welcomed people to camp overnight in their garden.
Thank you to everyone involved for the best Fun Day yet! It was absolutely fantastic to have so many of our adopted pointers in one place at one time, and seeing how much they are loving life now thanks to our amazing adopters.
