My first Pointer arrived into my life when I was around 9. O/W, she was beautiful, a typical Pointer with all the usual characteristics of the beautiful breed and that’s where it began. Never been without one since in the family!
We then had Boswell who was on his 3rd home with us. He was a 30 kilo gentleman, the most gorgeous boy. He took a piece of my heart when he passed and I feel, along with our 3rd family Pointer Ginny who my mum rescued from Turkey, gave me the reason to foster.
I then decided to adopt my own Pointer Holi again from Turkey and also brought over Betty at the same time (another pointer from Turkey) who was needing to get out of kennels as she was struggling. Claire Stokes helped me rehome Betty and that’s where the beginning of my fostering journey started.
My Pointer Holi was found on the streets of Turkey emaciated, not knowing any of her background. But in true Pointer style she is loving, amazing with my children and has the most incredible way with all the foster dogs that have come into our home.
Fostering is SO rewarding and I feel so proud to be part of the amazing Pointers In Need team surrounded by so much love for the breed and knowledge and so much backup for all the Pointers who are rehomed.
