Brandy and his brother, Soda, Pointer x GSP’s, were rescued in Spain when they were tiny , abandoned puppies. Pointers in Need agreed to find suitable homes in the UK and it took no time before both of these handsome babies were adopted to two lovely families.
Brandy is now just over a year old and has settled well. His adopters say he is adorable, affectionate, walks off lead with pretty good recall, is house trained, sleeps in a crate all night without a murmur, is happy to be left for a few hours and loves nothing more than a game of ball. In fact he’s everything you could ask for in a young dog and stunningly good looking with it.
So why is Brandy looking for a new home?
His adopters recently lost one of their dogs and wanted Brandy as a companion for their remaining, aging Pointer. They believed that a lively, energetic puppy would give their dog new life. However, although Brandy adores his new house-mate and showers him with licks and love, the feeling isn’t reciprocated. Brandy desperately wants to snuggle up and sometimes sit on his friend – it’s a Pointer thing to do – but the older dog is becoming intolerant, snappy and withdrawn. The family feel that the situation isn’t going to improve and they would prefer to find a new home for Brandy while he is still young enough to adjust. He has been with his family for just 3 months.
Brandy will be a wonderful addition to a family looking for a young Pointer. He does need a doggy companion to help him let off all that energy and to play with. He is fine with children and his current family have remained in contact with the adopters of his sibling Soda. If near enough, who knows, they could meet up for walks.
