We have this really special boy called Buddy who lives in the Lebanon.
In Spring 2026 someone called a volunteer to help rescue him from the edge of a highway. He now lives in a boarding home.
He is growing into a strong puppy. Currently he is circa 9 months old and weighs 13kg. He is not yet neutered due to his young age. He is vaccinated and healthy. He is on a good diet and vitamins to help him gain weight.
Buddy has one deformed front leg with a missing paw. This is a congenital issue and he was born like this. This seems not to bother him. We have the vet reports to share with prospective adopters. A summary is provided below.
He is of a very friendly and gentle nature without hunting instincts. He gets on well with children, cats and dogs. Buddy walks well on the lead and is house trained.
Buddy sounds like to perfect dog…if you are able to go beyond the looks and his unique characteristic and offer the love, care and understanding he so much deserves.
Vet report summary:
Buddy was born with a congenital limb reduction anomaly affecting the right thoracic limb.
Description: The affected forelimb terminates mid-shaft at the level of the radius and ulna, with absence of the distal segment, carpus, and paw.
Musculoskeletal System: Excellent compensation and strength in the remaining three limbs. Full range of motion in all joints without signs of pain or joint stiffness.
Neurological System: Intact mentation and normal nervous system function throughout.
General Health Verdict: Buddy is systemically healthy, active, and clinically fit for adoption and travel, subject to standard international transport regulations.
Care Recommendations for Adopter & Future Veterinarian
Mobility & Prosthetics: While Buddy adapts well using three legs, evaluation for a protective sleeve, custom prosthetic, or cart in the future can help prevent long-term strain on the opposite shoulder and spine.
Weight Management: Maintaining an ideal, lean body mass throughout life is strongly advised to minimize wear on his healthy joints.
Routine Care: Standard ongoing veterinary wellness care, routine vaccinations, and periodic monitoring of the stump pad as he grows.
