Our 2026 Bumper Crufts Raffle

In the 10th year of Pointers In Need, our annual Crufts raffle was a great success. Raising funds to support our rescue Pointers, our welfare work, and the assistance we give to the frontline Rescuers in Greece, Spain and elsewhere, to enable them to carry on their wonderful work.

This year we were enormously grateful to East Ruston Cottages and their owners for the amazing offer of three holiday breaks in their Norfolk cottages as our️ prizes.

At East Ruston Cottages, your Pointer pals are not just tolerated, not just welcomed, but positively embraced!  (Actually, other breeds are welcomed too!!)

There is no extra charge for dogs either! How rare is that? And all in amazing locations in stunning Norfolk – countryside, beaches and dog friendly pubs and restaurants.

The pictures are just wonderful ….. showing exuberant, joyful Pointers, stunning seascapes, beautiful beaches and sunsets. Our prize winners, have told us about their  holidays ……

FROM GILL

“We felt very lucky to have won a stay in Vineyard Cottage at East Ruston in Norfolk and had a great time.

“The cottage was beautifully decorated and  furnished, very dog friendly and had everything you needed. Graham, who welcomed us, was very friendly and helpful. The cottage had a lovely enclosed garden and Casper, our 8 year old Pointers In Need rescue boy, really enjoyed wandering around and lying on the grass.

“It was very hot when we were there and the nearby beaches were the ideal place to be. There was an endless variety of walking opportunities – our favourite being the Weavers Way, which ran alongside the fens.

“We saw hares playing in the fields and a beautiful barn owl swooping low right in front of us – sights I shall always remember.

“Thank you Pointers in Need and East Ruston Cottages for the opportunity to stay in this lovely place.”

FROM JANE

“We were lucky enough to win a break at Stones Throw in Bacton….. to say East Ruston Cottages are dog friendly is the understatement of the century.

“They more than provided for our 2 beloved Pointer rescues, Max who is 12 years old and Zac who is 7. With big cosy dog beds, throws for the sofas and beds, bowls, treats and even poo bags! The garden was more than secure with 6ft fences and gates all round.

“The cottage was literally less than 5 minutes walk to a fabulous dog friendly beach and a short drive to beautiful attractions in North Norfolk.

“Even we humans were treated to a welcome pack, with tea, coffee, and a delicious cake. The cottage was beautifully clean and comfortable. We had a lovely stay and would certainly recommend East Ruston Cottages to anyone with dogs.”

FROM JEAN

“We were very lucky to win top prize in the Pointers In Need Crufts Raffle and so had four hugely enjoyable days in the most dog friendly and well equipped cottage imaginable on the Norfolk coast. I just could not believe how welcoming ours was to dogs….. and for the 2-legged guests there were flowers on the table and a delicious cheesecake covered in raspberries in the fridge!!

“We had amazing weather, and the sunrises were so gorgeous I didn’t want to miss a moment of their changing colours.

“Seaview Cottage was just a few minutes walk to the wide sandy beach. Ballad. nearly 15, Drummond, 9 years, and Gentry, 7 years, thoroughly enjoyed themselves.

“Thank you so much to Pointers In Need for organising such a wonderful prize. And, of course, to East Ruston Cottages and their
owners.”

We are very grateful to Jane Sharman, Gill Grundy and Jean Bowen Brooks for telling us about their prize holiday breaks. And, of course, to East Ruston Cottages and their wonderfully generous owners.

If you and your dogs want a 5-Stars️ holiday in Norfolk, please remember the name ……. East Ruston Cottages.
