Christmas 2024 and a paw-some New Year!

As another year closes and a new one begins, here at Pointers In Need all we wish for his peace and harmony……..If only!

This year has been as usual a hectic one, 75 Pointers re homed, over 25 went into foster homes and we financially supported many Pointers, vets fees, shelter management/fencing/boarding, feed and much more.

We are always eternally grateful for all the help we receive from our supporters, you shine in the moments of need and leave me with a big smile, when you share the posts, when you buy from our auctions, purchase goods from our shop, when the donations come in from a plea and send, directly very quietly, extremely beautiful words of kindness, it really makes our days much brighter knowing you all care.

Our small, confident, professional, hard working team, really do give their all to make sure our Pointers get the best adopter and the best home and work tiresomely behind the scenes.

It leaves me to wish you all a very Merry Christmas and a peaceful, healthy and happy new coming year.

From the bottom of my heart, I thank you.

”Who adopts who?! The eternal canine conundrum”

“The word “team” comes from the Old English word tēam, which was first used before the 12th century. Tēam originally meant a group of draft animals used to pull a load. Over time, the word’s meaning expanded to include a group of people. “So ‘team work’ is what we do! We don’t always agree we don’t always disagree – rescue is not for the faint hearted. If you can’t adopt, can’t donate,  can’t foster (although this is our biggest hurdle next to donations). At least spread the word. We have had so many good homes due to ‘word of mouth’ and have had to deal with many rehomes (UK) non rescue but we are always there for them.

The biggest highlight of 2024 for me was Di Dickinson coming onboard as a volunteer.

A lady I have never met except through social media chats, became a special person because of her humour her love of ‘any type of Pointer’  her dedication to Spitha; & Nora. We lost Spitha just a few weeks ago, but Di made her last years happy.

Despite her loss, the Greek team never imagined in a million years a ‘9 year old’ dog desperate to live for life would ever be rehomed, she did & she carried on helping to become part of the team.

We can’t save them all but one is better than none, & where we can we will always endeavor to find a home for that lovely Pointer out there who needs us.

Wishing you a warm and joyful Christmas from all of us at Pointers In Need. We’re so grateful for your support and for the loving homes you’ve provided for our Pointers. Here’s to a paw-some new year!
